Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) represents a group of chronic, relapsing digestive disorders characterized by altered bowel habits, inflammation, abdominal pain, and systemic depletion.

Rather than defining IBD as a single disease entity, Ayurveda understands it as a functional failure of digestion and intestinal regulation, rooted in disturbances of Agni, the digestive fire. Let’s talk about what this means:

"I started seeing Dr. Anup in 2020 for lifelong migraines. I had seen at least 12 specialists in the conventional medical system. Dr. Anup is the only person who was able to help make lasting changes by addressing the complex factors that were triggering migraines (neurological issues, life stress, diet and lifestyle, relationship problems, hard job, physical tension). Dr. Anup is different from nearly any other health practitioner because he is a reputable naturopath who is also highly trained in traditional Ayurvedic knowledge. I have not encountered another physician with such deep expertise in both modern and ancient modalities of healing. Every time I have an appointment with Dr. Anup, I walk away with a holistic treatment approach that addresses my physical, psychological, and spiritual needs." - M

Modern wellness can feel like a patchwork of short-term fixes—always reaching for the next thing, never quite touching the root.
At Rhythm and Light Wellness, we believe the root is where real healing lives.

Not in surface behavior change—but in your relationship with yourself. Your emotions. Your past. Your body’s wisdom.

And most importantly: your awareness.

Awareness is the First Medicine

Our work is grounded in a simple truth: awareness is the engine of healing.

When you learn how to pause and pay attention to the body there is a sensory neurological awareness which allows the brain to gage physiological dysregulation.  This is an opportunity for the body to take actions that are restorative, balancing, and revitalizing. Our nervous system has the capacity to do this because it evolved to sense an injury and heal it independent of our actions. Trouble arises when the imbalance is very deep or when the stress is very high.  Then we benefit from therapeutic support.

Dr. Anup’s knowledgable and intuitive guidance helps clients mobilize the healing systems and metabolize their experiences into stable, embodied changes.

We use the timeless system of Ayurveda to guide this journey - not just for digestion or dosha balance, but to understand how emotional and spiritual imbalances express through the body.
