As autumn settles into the Midwest, the air feels dry as it fills our lungs, and crisp leaves crunch under the bare feet of our children. The warmth is lingering longer here than I recall it ever doing in Seattle—but I don’t mind.
These are my favorite days. My eyes are filled with colorful trees and happy children playing in piles of leaves, yet another sweet gift from our maple tree. In these moments of calm joy, the only reminders that we aren`t still in the secure embrace of late summer is the slight nip in the air and a growing restlessness.
It is the restlessness of change. Not just any change, but the change of letting go—of fully becoming something else.
The only certainty is that every leaf will fall from the maple tree. The uncertainty lies in what will become of them. As a witness watching this process, it is easy to rest assured that the leaf will disintegrate and provide nutrients for the soil. But as the leaf, I wonder: is it really so different from how we feel in the face of our own great uncertainties? We cannot rest in the assurance of what is to come. Nor can the leaf. All we know is that, at some point, we must let go.
This time of year inspires us to care for ourselves without demanding a certain result. Instead of acting out of expectation, we can embrace the practice—the nourishing food, the movement, the spiritual routine—simply for the sake of experiencing it. Then, like the leaf, when the moment arrives, we can fully release what we no longer need to hold.

Do you ever feel like it’s too hard to take a deep breath? 😮💨
When you’re feeling stressed or anxious, forcing a deep breath can actually backfire. It feels completely counter to what your nervous system is experiencing. Instead of calming you down, forcing it can trigger hyperventilation and make your anxiety feel worse.
Try this instead: Tapping.
Tapping quickly calms the body down from the physical level up, creating safety in your nervous system so a deep breath can happen naturally. ✨

Ever feel like your mind is racing, your stomach is bloated, and you just cannot get a good night’s sleep? 🌪️👇
If you’ve been treating these as separate issues—buying sleep supplements, drinking greens for bloating, and trying to meditate away the anxiety—Ayurveda has a different perspective for you.
In Ayurveda, these aren’t random symptoms. They are classic, interconnected warning signs of a Vata imbalance.
Vata is the energy of air and ether in the mind and body. When it gets too high due to stress, cold weather, dry food, or a chaotic schedule, it acts like a windstorm inside you—causing racing thoughts, irregular digestion, and restlessness.
The secret to feeling grounded again isn`t a generic wellness trend. It’s bio-individual care.
To help you get back in sync, I created a free tool for you:
🧬 The 5-Minute Dosha Quiz: Discover your dominant mind-body blueprint and find out exactly which elements are running your system.
📖 The Dosha Self-Care Guidebook: A comprehensive digital guide packed with in depth exploration of your strengths, and tools to help you stay in your center such as nutritions, breathing practices, self care massage, exercise routines and lifestyle fixes tailored specifically to your results.

✨ Feeling scattered, anxious, or overwhelmed? Your Vata might be out of balance. 🧘♂️
In Ayurveda, autumn/winter energy and high stress can aggravate Vata dosha, leading to a racing mind and cold, restless energy. The ultimate remedy? A warm, grounding mug of Golden Milk. 💛
Here is why this ancient ritual works so well for Vata anxiety:
• Grounding & Warming: Vata is cold and light. Warm milk (dairy or a rich plant-based alternative like oat or coconut) provides the heavy, unctuous, and soothing qualities Vata craves.
• Calming Turmeric: Packed with anti-inflammatory compounds that help soothe the nervous system.
• Spiced for Peace: Spices like cinnamon, ginger, and a pinch of nutmeg act as natural nervines, promoting deep relaxation and better sleep.
Pour yourself a mug, take a deep breath, and let yourself ground. ☕✨
