Disrupt emotional depletion from Shame!
If you have grown up with criticism, feeling embarrassed or shamed, we often feel depleted and deflated when we let people down or as if we`re failing in some way. When we feel this way, it is hard to do much, hard to move, hard to express ourselves.
Here`s an exercise to release this feeling.
First, begin with falling forward, letting your body hang down like a rag doll, and exhale, embodying that depleted and defeated feeling.
And then slowly breathe, filling your body with breath and energy. Lifting up.
And then let yourself go. Haaaaa.... Exhale!
Inhale, lift yourself up with breath and energy.
And exhale, haaaaaa.... let yourself go.
Lift up again, filling with breath and energy.
Repeat this practice six to nine times until you feel more strength and energy in your back and feel better.
Namaste!

How to disrupt the emotional trigger associated with shame?
When we feel shame, our nervous system responds with trauma, a fight or flight response that causes us to either dissociate and emotionally shut down or dissociate and become angry or enraged. In this way, we become either harmful to ourselves or harmful to those around us.
When you feel this, try this practice to disrupt the emotional trigger.
Begin with tapping at the center of your chest over the sternum, this bone. Feel your fingers, tap like a drum and take deep breaths.
When you can feel yourself taking deeper and deeper breath and relaxing, you`re ready for the next step.
Say I love you as you inhale,
and thank you as you exhale.
I love you.
Thank you.
I love you.
Thank you. Repeat this practice six to nine times and feel better. Namaste!

Qi Gong: Bridge to Soul Embodiment.............................
Our breath prana is the vital force that creates a bridge between the ego and our inner being the soul. Here`s a practice to build this bridge of soul embodiment. Imagine your thousand petal crown as the thousand green leaves receiving the light of the soul, your spine as the trunk embodying and absorbing this light and spreading it throughout you and your feet as the roots grounding this light into the earth.
With your palms facing up.
Inhale receiving the light from the crown to your sacred.
Palms turn downward. Exhale with this light grounding through your feet into the earth.
Palms up inhale receiving.
Palms down, exhale, radiating.
Repeat this, practice 12 to 18 times and enjoy your embodiment. Namaste!

Ego is thought of as a negative term. In Ayurvedic psychology, we seek to connect the ego with its purpose. Like our eyes, our fingerprints, our face, our voice. The ego is a unique vehicle through which the light of the soul shines, but many are broken, scared, or shaped by the negative circumstances of our lives.
In this manner, our egos are broken versions of the divine mold that is meant to express our soul. In Ayurvedic psychology, mending the ego is a step towards healing. The work begins with the inner awareness of the motivation and circumstances that have shaped our worst behaviors and instinct. In this way, we understand the mechanism of the ego`s disease and how far it has fallen from the truth.
With compassionate awareness, the ego is joined back with its source, its inherent virtue, and its purpose. In this way, being centered in self is a gift to yourself and to those around you. No longer a burden. Namaste!

We measure our worth based on the fleeting moments of success. Little light is given to the inner being, to the inherent virtues and the path of great effort that has led to that moment of success.
In Ayurveda, we cultivate the awareness of the inner being in which our inherent virtues are rooted and what gives meaning and purpose to every step of our effort. In this way, every moment of existence becomes a joyful and a rewarding experience, and every success becomes the peak celebration of who we are.

When criticism, shame or embarrassment triggers your stress response, here is a practice for self-soothing practice to calm your anger…
If your tendency is to become hostile, lash out, and yell… your primary response is to fight. In this case, practice clearing the liver channel and regulate your solar chakra.
Self-care:
— First, create a Liver-gallbladder circuit by connecting the index and middle finger of both hands like this… Take a few, deep breaths with your attention on this mudra.
— Then, as you inhale, bring your attention to upper abdomen, above the belly button (location of your solar chakra and liver) …
— As you exhale, pull your hands apart to the side your body and down, to direct the energy downwards to your feet.
— Inhale again, bringing your index and middle finger together again, with attention on your upper abdomen.
— exhale again, pull your hands apart to the side your body and down, to direct the energy downwards to your feet.
— Repeat this: 6-9 times…

How does shame become Traumatic?
When we are criticized and shamed as a child, we develop an inner critic as a “protector” … In childhood, the job of this inner critic is to protect the vulnerable child from shame, emotional harm, and abuse by being “GOOD”…
As we grow up, this inner critic continues to see us as a vulnerable, immature, and powerless child… It keeps us caged in the prison of fear, feeling of worthlessness, or a sense of being fundamentally broken or being fundamentally bad…
When it is pressed, it triggers our physical and emotional survival mechanisms… causing fight/flight/freeze response in our nervous system… This stress literally traumatizes our body, our mind, and weakens our Spirit.
If you recognize this feeling… That is the caged part of yourself bound in the profound pain of shame… Place one hand on your heart and one on your abdomen… as you breath in quietly say the words “I see you…”; pause before you exhale and say “I love you…”; while you exhale out your pain, say “thank you…”
Close your eyes and repeat this a few times…
